I have made the change.

JAC, the fact that they beat Purdue and Cal by a touchdown at home is relevant when evaluating how strong the Buckeyes were. Cal of course, beat just two IA teams on the season, and the Buckeyes were down six points to Purdue late in the third quarter when Miller went out. The fact that they allowed 49 points to Indiana (the second most points the Hoosiers scored all season) is also important. I'm not implying that Ohio State didn't win every game, but their narrow margin of victory in games against teams such as the ones mentioned above probably means they were not among the most elite teams in the country. I'll even call them a top-10 team, but let's not pretend they were in the same class as Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M, Georgia, etc.

Judging and rating teams simply on wins and losses is fine, but if you take that to its logical extreme, then the 1999 Marshall team that finished undefeated is better the 2007 national champion LSU Tigers that lost twice. matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07863019168368782406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14955809.post-58010042457106145012013-04-11T03:12:52.010-07:002013-04-11T03:12:52.010-07:00I think it's amazing how people continually tr...I think it's amazing how people continually try to downplay Ohio State's undefeated. Before the season it was, "There's no way Ohio State goes undefeated in Urban's first year". After they do it everyone tries to pick it apart.

"Any team that struggled to put away Cal and Purdue at home, and Indiana on the road was probably not worthy of gridiron immortality."

It's irrelevant since they won every game. Other things you seem to ignore is Ohio State lacked Carlos Hyde in against Cal. Lets also downplay the significance of losing Braxton Miller against Purdue. Against Indiana, they were up double digits, and took their foot off the gas. Acting as if Indiana had a chance at winning is just ignorant.

JAChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08534479632061551831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14955809.post-1552843112199911362013-04-10T22:41:36.262-07:002013-04-10T22:41:36.262-07:00After reading through this again it looks like the...After reading through this again it looks like the 2011 chart is pasted incorrectly into the 2012 post.
